Honoring Your Loved One at the Presidio Chapel
A Sacred Site for Memorials, Funerals & Celebrations of Life
Important Notice:
From January 2013 until further notice, the Presidio Chapel will be undergoing renovation and will not be available for weddings or other special events.
The Main Post Chapel was built in 1931 by the U.S. 6th Army as an interfaith sanctuary. It served the military for 64 years as its primary Chapel in the Presidio of San Francisco. Now as a part of a national park and under the care of the Interfaith Center at the Presidio, this historic sanctuary continues to welcome all faith traditions and peoples to a unique and ideal site for celebration and ceremony. |

Additional Information
An Officiant – You may bring your own clergy to officiate at the service, or the Interfaith Center director can refer you to clergy from various traditions (415-561-3930). Officiants, like musicians, are traditionally paid directly, prior to the event.
Music can be supplied by friends and family, recorded music, or professional musicians. The Chapel office can provide referrals.
Scheduling – A minimum of two hours are required for memorials, as all setup and cleanup is done within the time reserved.
Reservations – For reservations call Sandi Pilon at the Chapel office (415-561-3930) to pencil in a date and time or email presidiochapel@yahoo. com. A $100 non-refundable deposit with a completed reservation form confirms the reservation. Written confirmation is mailed with a map, guidelines, and a payment schedule.
Plenty of free parking is adjacent to the Chapel, whose sanctuary is wheelchair accessible. Welcome!
The Chapel is supported through volunteer efforts, donations, and Chapel-use fees. Thank you for your support!
